Birmingham Bulldogs Rugby League 2nd XIII took a somewhat makeshift side to Nottingham and gave a really good account of themselves against a strong home outfit before going down by 20 points to 8.
Two early Notts tried gave indications of a torrid time for Brum but they stuck to their guns and were rewarded with a try for Adam Smith [C.Smith (bro.) also in side] before the break
[HT 10-4]
The hosts crossed again early in the second half, but Brum’s response was excellent, a fine run by Woodward setting up a move which ended with Lee Ross touching down. A try in the closing minutes clinched victory for the home side.
In a great team effort, Hughes, Hendricks and Brown made notable contributions in the pack, and newcomer Colin Jones made a promising start.
